Through the Big Give’s Green Match Fund, every £1 you donate will be doubled, thanks to a Champion supporter who has pledged to match every contribution. That means your gift will have twice the impact in saving this irreplaceable habitat.

Argyll’s Rainforest is under threat

Argyll is home to over half of Scotland’s remaining rainforest, a rare and globally important habitat. With its mild, wet climate, sea lochs, and ancient woodlands, it’s the perfect environment for a rich diversity of life

But this special place is at risk. Invasive species, overgrazing, and climate change are putting fragile ecosystems in danger. The recent wildfires across the region have been a stark reminder of just how vulnerable it is. Without action, we could lose ancient trees, rare lichens, mosses, fungi, and the wildlife that depends on them.

These threats don’t just impact nature. Local communities rely on the rainforest for wellbeing, recreation, and sustainable livelihoods. That’s why ACT runs projects like:

• Branching Out: supporting mental health through woodland activities
• MAKI Pups & Outdoor STEM: inspiring the next generation to connect with nature

By protecting and restoring Argyll’s Rainforest, we’re ensuring its benefits for nature and communities for years to come.
