Midton is a leader in cast acrylic manufacturing, seamlessly blending craft techniques with cutting-edge technology. From their foundry located within the Kilmory Industrial Estate, they leverage their expertise to create exceptional products.

Their commitment to sustainability is evident through their development of innovative methods to manufacture, recycle, and repurpose sustainable plastics, effectively reducing waste and minimising their environmental impact.

In-house, Midton takes a proactive approach to sustainability, heating their factory using a Biomass boiler and utilising biodegradable packaging. During a tour of the foundry, Julie and Erin from ACT shared information about their projects, which sparked particular interest among the Midton staff. The team were keen to be engaged in exploring carbon literacy, our Rainforest restoration initiative, and the MAKI Pups outdoor nursery. Additionally, they were enthusiastic about conducting a trial with our electric bikes.

In a follow-up visit, Jamie met with the Midton charity committee to discuss cycling to work and bike maintenance skills, filming this great video.

Furthermore, the Midton Charity Committee will be taking up fundraising activities throughout the year, with proceeds going to ACT. We’re looking forward to following their progress!
