Our work includes nature restoration, climate action and awareness, outdoor learning, health and wellbeing. Types of roles at ACT Trainee and early career roles We provide opportunities for people starting their careers in habitat restoration and land management. These include trainee roles within the Rainforest Squad and other habitat restoration projects, offering practical experience and training in field skills and environmental land management. Habitat restoration These roles focus on practical work on the ground, supporting woodland and rainforest restoration, peatland recovery and wider habitat regeneration projects. Roles in this area include habitat managers, woodland coordinators, Peatland ACTION officers, and a volunteer coordinator, working across Argyll. Outdoor learning, health and wellbeing We run MAKI Pups outdoor nursery in Lochgilphead and other outdoor learning and wellbeing programmes. The team includes early learning practitioners and staff delivering outdoor learning, health and wellbeing sessions for communities across Argyll. Climate and community engagement Through projects such as ABCAN, CPP and reCycle, we employ staff who support community engagement, climate action projects and partnerships across Argyll and Bute. These roles often involve working with community groups, schools, businesses and local partners. Organisational roles We also employ staff responsible for project delivery, communications, finance and business development, helping coordinate our work across multiple projects. This includes practical habitat restoration work as well as technical and business consultancy.
