Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) is undertaking a review of payment methods for charging car parks. FLS currently charges for parking at 48 of its sites to help maintain visitor facilities. 75% of forest car parks remain free and Blue Badge holders park free of charge.

FLS is considering introducing contactless card payment machines (they would have no pin pads to type numbers) at some sites where there would be no option to pay by cash or phone and/or pay by phone only technology at some sites (phone call to a call centre, via a phone app or via a web site to pay for parking).

FLS is seeking feedback from a wide range of visitors and stakeholder groups who use the forest car parks to understand if these forms of technology would make paying for parking easier, no different, more difficult or impossible in comparison to the current main payment method of coin operated pay and display machines.

In addition, FLS are also considering pay by phone and online technology to sell car park season passes.

FLS would really appreciate your time to fill in a short survey. It should take approximately 2 minutes to complete and no personal details will be saved. Click here to start the survey.
