Last week we went on a community learning exchange to learn about projects similar to one we are currently developing. We wanted to visit sites where groups are developing visitor facilities projects. We visited sites in Glenfinnan, Kyle of Lochalsh, and Skye.

It was great to see all the sites, and to learn about how communities are dealing with visitor management. We came back inspired and full of ideas for our own visitor facilities project that is currently under development.

On Skye, we met with board members of the Minginish Community Hall Association, who are developing car parking and visitor facilities at the Fairy Pools. The community have facilitated an increase in parking space at the site to relieve some of the pressure caused by high numbers of visitors to the popular attraction. Next they will be developing facilities including toilets. 

We want to say a big thank you to Minginish Community Hall Association for hosting us and telling us all about their great project.
