Last week we welcomed our latest recruit, Katie Barnwell, to the ACT team. Katie is joining us as a Business Development Support Officer on the ScotGrad programme, supported by Highlands and Islands Enterprise. Her role will include helping to develop business opportunities for ACT.

Katie recently graduated from the University of Glasgow where she studied economics/public policy. Katie previously completed an internship at Argyll & Bute Council, which introduced her to the beautiful region of Argyll and the Isles. She was also on the internship scheme at Glasgow City Council, working in project management at the 2018 European Championships. She loves to see Glasgow bustling with big events like the Championships! Recently Katie completed a research project for Community Land Scotland. This was supported by the Robertson Trust, where she was a scholar throughout her time at university.

Katie has recently moved to Argyll from Glasgow and can’t wait to explore the area further. Katie is excited to get involved with the work of ACT.

Do you have any suggestions for where Katie should explore? She would love to hear your ideas in the comments below, especially anywhere involving a scenic walk with the opportunity to sample some local food and drink!
